Privacy
Machinimasound is a free music service. We don't sell anything, we don't take payments, and we don't run user accounts. The only personal data we hold is your email address, and only if you've chosen to subscribe to our mailing list. We will never sell, license, sublicense, or share that email address with any person or organization. The only third parties involved are Postmark, Cloudflare, and Plausible — chosen for their privacy posture and described below.
Third-Party Services
Postmark
We use Postmark to send mailing list emails. Your email address is stored in Postmark solely for the purpose of delivering these messages.
Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare to secure our website and to optimize the speed with which we deliver our content.
Plausible
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII).
Information We Collect
The only information we collect is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to the mailing list. We do not collect names, billing information, addresses, payment details, or any other personal data. There is no login, no user account, and no profile.
Why We Collect Your Data
Your email address is used solely to notify you when new tracks are released and to send directly related communications. It is not used for profiling, advertising, or behavioural tracking, and it is not shared with anyone outside the service providers listed above.
Safeguarding Your Information
Your email address is transmitted over TLS-encrypted connections and stored by Postmark on infrastructure hardened to current industry standards. Any sensitive operational data we hold offline is encrypted at rest using strong, well-vetted cryptography (OpenPGP for messaging and ECC Curve25519 for key exchange).
Cookies
We do not set our own cookies, and we do not use tracking pixels, social media embeds, or any third-party widgets that would set cookies on your behalf. This includes platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Google.
Cloudflare may set strictly-necessary security cookies (such as __cf_bm and cf_clearance) to detect malicious bot activity and to remember that a visitor has passed a security challenge. These cookies do not track or identify individuals and are not used for analytics or advertising.
Data Retention
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. The simplest way to have your data deleted is to click the unsubscribe link in any of our emails — your address is removed immediately.
Postmark retains email content and metadata for 45 days to support deliverability and bounce handling, after which it is purged from their systems. Bounces, spam complaints, and unsubscribed addresses are kept by Postmark in a suppression list to prevent accidental re-sending.
We do not retain your email address for tax, accounting, or any other secondary purpose, because we do not run any commerce that would require it.
Your Rights
You can have your email address removed at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of our emails — it takes effect immediately. If you'd prefer to confirm what we hold or have it corrected, e-mail us at [email protected].
